A blast to the west

Here’s the deal. We finally left. Laban and I pulled out of his shop at about 3pm on Thursday. Devin came with us and camped in Ohio Pyle with us then headed home in the morning and we headed toward Colorado
We stopped at a natural water slide in ohio pyle but it was mostly dry but we found a hole to clean up in.

Basically our days went something like this: Thursday: 300 miles some interstate, mostly nice roads, hot had a nice evening to camp. Friday: 400 miles no interstate except for a few bypasses around cities, not to hot, camped behind a gun club. Saturday: 500miles minimal miles on interstate, camped just east of Kansas city in a field lane. Starting to get flat.
Sunday: hands down the worst day of riding I have ever done. 6oo+ miles flat strait roads with a 30 mph head wind and really bad gusts that nearly pushed us off the road. Oh and it was 110 degrees!! And if you know me you know I don’t do heat. To put it in perspective it was like being sat in front of an industrial dryer while sitting under a heat lamp with someone slamming the side of your helmet as hard as they could. Or like an ant running across hot pavement but never finding shade and finally going up in smoke. But the good news is that we didn’t quite go up in smoke. After 10+ hours of riding in phenomenal heat we finally rolled into Colorado springs, battered and beaten and red in the face. Ok so that was just me but…… it felt good to meet up with Chad Dwayne Nate and Hannah. More to come in a bit
