Days 1, 2, and 3

We have made it 3 days into our journey and so far it has been a blast. We left Wednesday morning and headed west towards Ohio. Dad, Al, and Devin rode with us to Dubois, PA and from there on it was just the three V-Stroms. We stopped at a rest stop along interstate 80 and got asked by a man there if we were heading to Panama. He was pretty impressed when we said yes and then he wished us safe travels. We have gotten several comments from strangers about the trip and we get lots of looks from drivers as we pass them. We stopped in Youngstown, OH to have lunch with my friend Kristi. We had a nice time with her and she followed us as we took off for Charm, OH home of the world famous Keim Lumber. We spent Wednesday evening in Charm with my Uncle Ken and Aunt Kathy and my cousin Karen and her husband Robbie and their family. We recieved a tour of Keim Lumber and got to see my uncle's custom trike that he is working on. Our time in Ohio was great as Ken and Kathy and Karen and Robbie took great care of us.
Thursday morning we took off for Chicago to visit our friend Justin. We first had to swing by Elkhart, Indiana to pick up Hannah's car from her friend's house. It took us a lot longer than we expected, but we eventually arrived in Chicago around 8:30. Justin took us to an authentic Costa Rican restaurant, which was excellent and recieved Chad's approval. Friday morning was spent walking around downtown Chicago with Justin. We got to meet up with my brother Doug and his wife Crystal and my niece Kaci and the rest of their group from church while we were there. We toured Millenium Park and walked along Michigan Ave. While walking back to the subway we went past the set of scene for Transformers 3. We also got to meet a couple of Hannah's friends as well while in Chicago.
We pulled out of Chicago around 1:30 and headed towards Iowa to my cousin Tim's house. We rode through the beautiful farm country of Illinois along the way. We got to test out our rain gear for the first time today as we rode in rain for about an hour and twenty minutes. Just before arriving at Tim's we went over 1000 miles for the trip so far. We arrived at Tim's around 7 and he made us a wonderful dinner of steak on a stick and sweet corn.
So there is a brief synopsis of the last three days, I was having difficulty loading pictures tonight so we will try again tomorrow.
